@skylinerj3 I wouldn't do it for no reason because I'm not insane. Though if I knew both that I would not die, and that it would in fact guarantee that all of humanity would be saved from some terrible fate, that could possibly give me the strength to go through with it willingly, if even hesitantly and fearfully. After all, religious mystics and wackos torture themselves all the time for no good reason at all, as mentioned in DiscoveringReligion's comment.

@skylinerj3 Look up "self immolation', if you have the stomach for it. People do cause themselves unimaginable pain in order to support causes they believe in.

So that would be a "yes" to my question?

@BlameRepublicans Actually, I don't refer to him as Jesus. His real historic name was Yeshua. Your knowledge of him is obviously lacking. You have been taught things about him which were not true but if you want to believe that he never existed and that the whole world changed everything about itself for some imaginary guy then have a ball. I suggest you actually give the bible a real chance and study it through the hebraic lens so you will get a real understanding of the universe.

Oh I forgot to ask - do you accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior? I think I already know the answer but I want to verify it with you.

The Josephus account has already been proven a fraud. It was written well after the time Jesus was suppossed to have lived. Tacticus was a Greek military writer of the 2nd century, well after the time Jesus was suppossed to live. 2 unsupported, and far removed srouces is not "more proof" than that of Cesar. If you dig a *little* deeper you can see there is no valid historic proof supporting the Jesus theory.

@BlameRepublicans Jesus was mentioned by two well known historians. One being Josephus and the other being Tacitus so there is actually more proof of his existance than Julius Ceasar.

This interpretation of the Genesis story makes sense to me, and if not to you, that is of course your business. Perhaps some other visitor here will find it interesting. Thanks for the comment.

@marc5lake Can you prove this one "real" power? Didn't think so.
I don't agree that what Jesus did wasn't a sacrifice. I don't know any person who would willingly submit himself to suffer in this manner to save humanity. Seriously, if you think about it, how many person would be willing to be beaten with a whip filled with nails and broken glasses and be hung on a cross by nails on their feet and their hands? Would you volunteer for that? So you seriously saying that if you knew you would be resurrected at the end, you would willingly submit yourself.

@skylinerj3
Haven't you seen religious nut-jobs crucifying themselves? I am not talking about reenactments, they actually nail their hands and feet to a cross and crucify themselves in honor of Jesus. Google "S. Korean man crucified himself over Easter" -- this guy actually killed himself. It helps to do a little research before you comment. :)

@DiscoveringReligion
The reason why I say I believe in God is because I really wish there is something beyond death but I see religion for what it is. A dividing tool that blinds people to their own self interest. If I can convince you that I'm God's Instrument and that I have VIP access to him, I can definitely control you.

@skylinerj3
Well, you said no one would ever volunteer themselves to be crucified, but that certainly is not the case. In fact, not only do some people volunteer, they actually crucify THEMSELVES. Who is to say Jesus wasn't also some religious nut-job that believed he was on a mission from God? I agree with your assessment of religion, but I wouldn't hold a belief just because it makes me feel good. I'd rather accept an uncomfortable truth than a cozy lie. But that's just me.
