  • They make look the way they look but how do they feel? How you feel is what counts. I think keeping calories low is important but I think these have gone too low. They exercise. The barley will lift blood sugars, why bother with grains? If they left out grains they could probably be able to eat later in day to still keep blood sugars ok. there healthy diet, no alcohol, fruit, veg, meat, fish, nuts may cause good eyes alone!

  • They feel great, and paul's blood sugar I believe is between 60-70mg/dl. They are 'extremely' insulin sensitive. Most CRers are...

  • They look older for their age (60's?) I wanna believe in CR but these 2 people dont represent it well not physically anyway, sorry. The guy looks like he is in 70s. It should be CR + Exercise

  • your opinion... but paul does not look at 70... anyway, they started after middle age, what do you expect??? ;) The people who you are going to see stay youthful are ones that start from a young age, like me and other CRers who started from 18-20. I started from age 18 and am now 25 next month but always get mistaken for being 17... seems to work for me. thanks for ur comment anyway. check out my blog sometime. google " calorie restriction blog" its top one. thanks. matt

  • Does going on a CR diet help with severe, chronic

    neuropathic pain conditions?

  • CR and IF both help increase nerve growth factors and prevent different causes of neuropathy.

  • The man looks like a concentration camp survivor. I have to say though that they look younger and the skin just looks amazing

  • no way they look shit seriously shit.1900 is fine as far as calories go.

it depends on what those calories are made up of.you can eat very well on 1900 calories.you cant have those burgers or crisps they are shit!,eat salmon or fish, fruit and vegetables and you will not be hungry at all, still be under 1900 calories and most importantly you will be healthy,in fact with CR its better than exercise,it affects the body better than regulated exercise.

  • Sorry, they do not look healthy to me. I wonder how they actually feel.

My mother is 60 and this woman looks like she could be her grandmother if you just compared the looks.

I also think this advice is awful. Starvation is not healthy at all for the body.

Sorry, but this is bad bad bad advice. :(

  • oh my goodness they look sick! they are slurring their speech too. low cal diets work only in short term, semi stravation diets burns up protein to make up deficiet and your heart and organs are made of protein, i never known a anoeroxic to live a long happy healthy life. they are anoeroxic, slow suicide if you ask me. the body si not stupid it won't ask for more than it needs. just because we don't understand it doesn't make the body incompentent. he does look 60. she looks worse.

  • @matthewlake182 I eat 500 cals a day and I feel like crap all the time. I feel like I might faint and I can't think straight. I'm not trying to restrict my calories but it's all I can do at the moment. How does anyone feel good with calorie restriction?

  • I think this is positive stuff and we are going in the right direction. However, for me eating like sex and other endeavors is part of what is enjoyable about life. There is a point of diminishing returns. What if you were told you could live to 200 but you could never have sex again? To be eating Caloricly full foods makes life better. So it is not for me. However I do enjoy the extra energy levels I get from fasting. In the end I always end up eating once I get my work done I chow down!

  • @Catherine8here : Actually few centenarians are vegetarian. Most, if not all, of the subjects in in New England Centenarian Study ate meat in varying degrees.

  • @Catherine8here no, kCat, Okinawan's eat plenty of carbs mostly sweet potatoes.

  • Paul looks like he has tremors.

  • @matthewlake182 I did buy the book. Looking at long lived people, one is 108 on you tube, and 'most' eat little if any meat.Okinawas eat grain, tofu, veg, some fruit, fish, others eat fish, veg, fruit. All quite low in carbs, with esp no refined food or sugar
