Why does black play pawn to b5 at 3:07?
-
10:41 not "kind of", IS
xD
-
thats a goofy mutha fucken win
-
@pudu4 queen f6 to c6, white loses momentum
-
@pudu4 because the black would have moved Qc6 escaping white offense, counter attacking the white queen and protecting the rook
-
@pudu4 Because Black's ...Qc6 stops both threats and the possible exchange of Queens is not of White's favour.
Moreover, when one is that aggressive, having a kingside majority, it's usually better to concentrate on the king, instead of capturing passive pieces.
-
@pudu4 Because of Qf6c6, remember that black wants to trade down, because its ahead in material.
-
@pudu4 Was about to say the same thing...but I guess they know better....
-
@pudu4 Yeah, I was thinking the same exact thing. I watch this for pure entertainment though, I can't even beat an easy chess computer.
I think we're both missing something here. Besides, the moves that White DID make, ended up winning him the game. So that's without a doubt a better variation.

@pudu4 queen just moves to c6, and attacking his queen
There are many immortal games but this is the best one in my opinion. By the way, i recommend lichess.org - a cool yet lesser known free chess site for all levels of players. The only drawback is that the number of players online is generally not that high. There you can play without registration. Besides, you can play Chess 960, which is equally fascinating. So please join.

At 9:53, why didn't white move the e4 pawn up to e5 attacking the queen with the pawn and attacking blacks rook with the queen?
