Women and Public Policy Program, Harvard Kennedy School

The World Bank Group's Women, Business and the Law project aims to improve opportunities for women by examining the laws and institutions that differentiate between men and women in ways that can adversely affect women's participation in the economy as entrepreneurs and as workers. The second edition of the Women, Business and the Law report aims to facilitate comparative analysis of legislation across 141 economies and 6 areas of law(accessing institutions, using property, getting a job, providing incentives to work, building credit, and going to court). Serving as a resource for research, and contributing to reforms that can enhance women's economic participation, the 2012 edition will also highlight the key areas of overlap between women's economic empowerment and their human rights.
