Attempt at Shell Fence Removal

On Sunday 3rd May 2009 members of the local community in Erris Co Mayo, Ireland, assisted by national support, attempted to remove Shell fences from the Special Area of Conservation at Glengad.

these people are helping to defend a community who have been, neglected,ignored and beaten. the reason this project has been delayed so long is because the developer hasnt addressed all saftey concerns. in the last oral hearing for the onshore pipeline, when asked about saftey distances from the pipe, in the event of an explosion. shell said that people would have 30 seconds to run to shelter. when asked what shelter? shell said, "the assumption was there would b shelter." have a look at erris

garda thugs?? all i saw was a group of aggresive and volitile people attempting to cause criminal damage to a fence. with the gardai going about their duty in the protection of property. i think the shelltosea protesters should continue with this behaviour as every new video alienates them from the decent citizen. they start out peacefull and quickly decend into mob violence. disgusting people!!
