So, this freak thunderstorm ripped through my neighborhood today (May 2, 2009), bringing thunder, lightning, large hail, and even a possible tornado. It was a storm the likes of which is so uncommon here in Western Oregon, I'm so happy I caught it on video!!!

This is part 3, and shows the aftermath and the damage around my neighborhood. It also has some interviews by the Media, and an eye-witness account from one of my neighbors who actually saw the funnel pass over. He told me that it basically passed directly over my big tree - so, directly over me (and my camera!).

Part 2 is by far the most exciting, which shows the storm passing overhead, but if you haven't watched it yet, you should also see Part 1, which shows the storm as it was approaching. The wall cloud is an amazing sight!

Enjoy! :)

  • NO Tornades were reported to have touched down in Milwaukee Oregon by law enforcement officers or weather service! NO Tornado Sirens were sounded

  • @HyperFoxTails The funnel was spotted and reported by several people, including one Police Officer (seen in this video). The NWS never acknowledged it as a funnel, even though there was physical evidence of rotational winds.

Oregon does not have any tornado sirens, not a single one.

  • I've just watched your 3 videos and WOW! That was one brilliant storm! It makes me kind of sad that we don't get storms like this in England! Where I live, we havn't had one single storm all summer, not even a rumble. So disapointing!!

  • Well, we don't get storms like this in Western Oregon, either. This was EXTREMELY unusual!

Although, the past 12 - 18 months has been rife with unusual weather for us; numerous and strong thunderstorms (when one or two weak ones per year is normal), 2 feet of snow over christmas (when we're lucky to get 3 inches total for the winter), 109.1°F at the beginning of August (unheard of!)... Makes me wonder what this winter will bring.

    Thanks for watching!

  • I remember that storm when it went through beaverton. I was working just off of cedar hill blvd and the wind gusts were so powerful that It was picking up branches, rain, debris to where i couldn't see 50ft outside of the window. I was bummed cuz i planned on going fishing after work that day

  • Last winter we had 3 feet of snow fall in under an hour, I've never seen anything like it! My car got stuck and I was stranded for over an hour! And for 2 weeks during the summer, we had temps of 95-98F, which is definatly unheard of over here! Then the summer went down hill from there, and it was cool, wet and just plain horrible. Same as the last 3 summers, gone are the continuous warm sunny days of summer it seems! Still, I'm holding out for 2010, it can only get better right?!!

  • heh we had a worse on thursday afternoon my dad and i were droppin my mom off at fred meyers and i looked up and the sky was green that indicated that a tornado was immenent so me and my dad had the stereo up and i could hear the thunder and lightning booming it scared me so bad
