Akshay Kumar ditches award ceremony!

Eye-brows are being raised after actor Akshay Kumar walked out of an awards ceremony late last night. The Bollywood star reportedly refused to accept an award saying, it should be given to Aamir Khan instead.

ak dedicated his award to amir based on amir's performance for ghajini, which was one of the best of amir's for this year, if someone dedicates something to somebody w/ humility that needs to be appreciated.

harmit1212, it may be true, & if it is, it is great to see another actor grow a backbone in this industry where awards ceremonies are run like "mohalla-functions." Not just aamir, but many other deserving performers have been overlooked in last 15-20 yrs. indian awards ceremonies have lost credibility b'coz of the "bhaand" mindset that SRk & his cronies reflect. i've enjoyed some of SRK's films, esp. earlier work like "kabhi haan kabhi naa," but he hasnt deserved the awards that he has managed!

Not to be star struck like u gys of ur "bollywoo" stars, i respect ak for his natural acting in comedy whn the situation nd the rest of cast is on board.

Bt in welcome&sik(same story, same character or helpin baddies b.come goodies), the situation the lack of comic timing on the part of other actors(aside paresh) make ak's movies suck big time.

Same thing happend fr cc2c, only ak is left w.the job to do the best he can out a childish story, this story suited better fr kung fu panda.

Did u actually believe ak's comedy is difficuly part of his acting. Evry1 knows comedy is difficult bt the way ak performs comedy hs b.come mundane nd is like govinda's performances. Paresh rawal is much better as he knows it best nd is keepin his comedy roles balanced w.diffrnt charactrs nd his other genre movies.

Ak does not deserve the nomination like srk,aamir(nt this time though), ranbir,ab. If ur a big fan of ak, i understand ur sentiments.

Hirthik's performance was different, akshay was in a comic role, so should not be ompared, comdey is something thats is the most difficult part of acting and akshay excels hirthik doesn't.

I mean akki hs alrdy performd in awards b.f nd he didn't give any sign of being upset or he didn't make any statemnts i.e recently, as the in past akki gt nominated nd attended nd performd bt never won the award.

Its jst wierd tht he,ab,ranbir,srk got nominated for their overacting nd repeating the same kind of role. It cud save akki the time of nt attending nd goin thru the embarassmnt if he wsn't nominated.

I don't think its a big deal whtrh ak is humble or not as if he knew awards wer rigged b.f hand as mentioned by you, ak wud take the right stand in not attending the award. This makes both srk nd akki the same, its so dumb tht akki fell for the awards nd believd he actually cud get an award if he "performs".
