Nat Jackley, Dan Young and Norman Evans fooling about in Mancunian Films' Demobbed (1944) in which Jackley, Evans and Young fresh out of the Army get jobs in a firm, an occupation that leads them to solve a crime and stage a concert party.
I saw this 'Demobbed' excerpt for the first time on 15th June 2010. Since then I've watched it again and again.. and it just grows on me. Nat Jackley stands out as the star turn in this deceptively simple little dance routine, just walking round in circles, but if you watch him carefully you'll begin to appreciate just how talented he was in his 'silly walks', predating by decades the likes of John Cleese and Michael Jackson. Nat must have been very fit, and an accomplished dancer.
That's where Michael Jackson got his rubbery legs movement! I thought it was familiar! I saw Nat Jackley live in Leeds pantomime in the 1940s. Nat, Betty Jumel and Norman Evans - sublime! Later on I saw Hylda Baker live too. What a rich childhood I had - ahahaa
what a funny man he was. I last saw him at the Tivoli in Melbourne Asutralia. He was one of the great music hall comics and for funny walks he and Max Wall were the tops Long live the mamory of Nat Jackley.

This is an almost surreal sketch and very much belongs to another era. A very funny man but strange and quirky humour.
