Richardson Grove State Park marks the southern entrance to Humboldt County, and is considered to be the famous redwood curtain that has kept the county from becoming another exit along the superhighway of modern development. In 1922, concerns about "potential destruction of the trees by highway construction and logging" persuaded the State to protect the redwood grove. But now Caltrans is proposing to widen the highway through the Grove, resulting in removal of trees and destruction of old growth root systems.
It is funny how they just made stuff up in this video. They should have widened this stretch of road years ago. These protesters have no credibility left.

The better question is why are formerly respected organizations like EPIC engaging in obvious disinformation campaigns when NONE of the indipendent arborists or biologists who have reviewed this project have found any issues.

@HumboldtQE and you registered this account on youtube 3 days ago. Are you involved in any way financially or politically with the project?

This project is unnecessary and is a waste of tax payers dollars. THe project will only benefit a few people, mainly large corporate interests who want to bring big box stores into Humboldt County.

Before making up your mind, get the facts about this project at

The truth is that this is a very small project that is breaking new ground in terms of environmental sensitivity by taking extreme measures in order to avoid impacting old trees.
