If you know people, especially friends/family who are contractors, you'll be able to build something like this for 40-80k. Research all the materials needed and look for the hook up (discount). Im doing a project with 6 shipping containers and it reduced the costs by 60%. Im looking to spend 60k max on my home and hopefully will have it paid off in 6 years. Unfortunately people selling these eco friendly homes are ripping you off just as bad as anybody. Do it yourself or start networking.

Even though this seems expensive I personaly think it's worth it, it is vey beautiful and aparently more green than other homes.

@unit666industries In all do honesty... yes, i would give around that much for that house. I can do all the finishings my self. I would not go over 45k. Its super, super simple, easy to build, would take about a week or so, and should be cheap as well. But whatever, i bet she's making a killing right now off of these homes
