This is the inaugural Fighting Torque drag racing event held on August 12th 2007. A selection of the fastest factory cars in the world competing in a 3/4 mile drag race at Wattisham Airfield. Instead of the usual 1/4 mile format, the three quarter mile helps negate driver ability especially at launch and simply measures outright grunt and speed.

A handful of modified "street" cars were there for comparison one of which is a Fiat Coupé 20v Turbo. Despite having fueling problems in 5th gear thus limiting the engine to only 6800rpm instead 7800rpm, the Coupé managed a 25.8 @ 156mph... all through the front wheels! You can see details of my car at http://www.torquestats.com/Flea

  • 145mph in 4th? hmm....

  • That's correct, you see the standard limiter is 6800rpm which equates to 135mph in 4th, whereas my limiter is 7850rpm which equates to 155mph in 4th. Simples...

  • 'fastest factory cars in the world'..but tuned?

  • Does anyone ever read the description on the top right??!

  • @ciakkettino nah just most!

  • what if you took every single car made in existence and lined them all up for a single massive drag race. AWESOME ENGINE ORGY

  • @matthawk68

Not in the league , but bit one or two of your arses :O , easy ;)

  • and i thought my car was long geared!

you holding boost all the way to redline?

  • What a great day this was, the Fiat was bloody quick too though not as quick as my GT3 which was I believe the quickest standard car of the event. 4 runs, 4 wins, no standard TVR's quicker, or standard 911 Turbo's come to think of it...

    Miss my GT3 :(

  • Did it? Bit odd then that despite "the Fiat" fluffing the start somewhat, BOTH Cerberas crossed the finish line quite a bit behind i.e. 10-20 car lengths. This takes nothing away from any other cars, but please don't suggest things that clearly did not happen.
