"Design Thinking is a methodology for finding creative solutions to product-based problems. This goes beyond simply fulfilling a user's needs, and strives to offer fully realized experiences. The challenge for brands is to stop building products, and to instead concentrate on adding value at each stage of design. This is the root of Design Thinking.
This approach tends to think about how product can be improved for users, according to a logic of innovation and the "détournement" of existing solutions. Because anything can be a source of creativity, inspiration can be drawn from beyond whatever industry or product is in question. Brainstorming becomes primordial, as it generates a variety of viewpoints and original ideas -- and the most fertile ground for brainstorming is a multidisciplinary team that combines different expertises, talents and energies.
Design Thinking belongs to a business culture that values collaboration. There are no bad ideas, there are only ideas that evolve and open new avenues of thought. Ultimately, it is the belief in experimentation, and the focus on people and users, that forms the base of Design Thinking.
