How about "First I will start by cutting the hair at a zero degree angle. This will establish the legnth of my haircut all around. Then I will take a piece of hair from the crown section and establish how short I want my layers to be using a 90 degree angle. While going through the haircut be aware of cowlicks and spring points. If cut to short they will not lay flat thus forcing you to cut it shorter." I just gave a more professional tutorial without a video!
