After missing the K.D. Lang concert in Santa Fe, NM in 2008, where I went to mourn the loss of my birth Mother, and then by a stroke of luck, seeing the final concert in Long Beach, CA, a miracle happened. Our birth Family has been reunited after over 40 years. My birth Mother was naturally on my mind through the entire concert - I had recently found out that she had passed in 2005. This song fit perfectly to her already existing memorial video, given to us (with different music) by our Brother two months after the concert - less than two weeks after finding each other. Added at the end of the video are her two oldest Sons (my brother and I), whom she bravely gave up for adoption, and never met as adults. Both of us were searching for Ginny, our birth Mother, at similar times, and thanks to help from her Sister and Brother, our Aunt and Uncle, permission from my Parents, wonderful friends, especially Sue, Nebraska Children's Home, the internet, and our persistence, we have found our Family. Our images are edited in with the two children she raised, our Brother and Sister. My birth Father is also added with photos he had saved that the two of them had taken of each other, along with my senior picture. Ginny's senior picture was sent to us by our Sister, her Daughter that she raised - it is the first time our Brother and I (also meeting for the first time in 2009) had ever seen her (except as Infants). "I live in the hills, You live in the Valley" are appropriate lyrics as her senior picture appears in the video. Ginny gave two Sons to two loving Families, and now we are all together, including my birth Father. Our adopted Families have merged with our birth Families - neither taken lightly, with much gratitude and love. The black bird at the beginning and the end is the bird flying over me at the beach near Santa Barbara, when, for two, very long hours (but not long enough, spent with just her), only Ginny, my birth Mother, already gone, and I, knew the results of the DNA test with my birth Father, the very welcomed surprise, in March, 2009. To quote our brother, who she raised with our sister, "This is nothing short of a miracle".
