The 2011 Ford Mustang GT features the new 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 engine. Packing 412 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque, the engine produces 97 hp and 65 lb-ft more than the 4.6-liter V8 used in the 2010 Mustang GT. Despite the added power, Ford projects fuel economy will rise to 17 city / 25 highway (up from 17 city / 23 highway) for models equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission. The fuel economy rating for the six-speed manual will remain unchanged at 16 city / 24 mpg highway. To squeeze out the extra mileage, Ford equipped the car with Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT), an Electric Power Assist Steering (EPAS) system, and an additional rear decklid seal (to improve aerodynamics).

  • technically its not the return of anything the original 5.0L back in the day was actually a 4.9L this new engine is a true 5.0L

  • @Motorfordtoyota BMW X5 is made in USA. And corvettes are not underpowered. BMW may be able to have 430hp in a 4.4 V8, but they need to be serviced every other week. I have BMW E91 330xi, my father drives 2001 Ford Escape. Same engine size, he has 150kw, I have 200kw. He drives years without any problem, he only buys petrol for that car. I have my beamer for 1 month, and it already had to be serviced 2 times. And its not just me, all my friends with BMW's are experiencing the same.

  • What's the name of this song???

  • @warnerg80 Lol this car does 0-60 in 4.4 seconds

The s2000 does 5.7 with a tune with a very good driver... And it's gets just better for mustang and higher speeds chances are there is a very little chance of you smoking one unless you go forced induction or tune your car to a level where it will not be a daily driver anymore...

Now saying that base MSRP for a s2000 was 35k's and the mustang starts under 30k it is much more bang for the buck... Both good cars but both are very common on the road

  • 格好いい♪

  • Seriously what's the song

  • I read an article yesterday stating that Ford has announced that in 2014 they will not continue to with the retro look any more. The Mustang will completely be redesigned, if this is true; I think it's a big mistake if they cut short the retro look for the Mustang. This is the only car {and Challenger) that pulled it off perfectly-IMO. It would suck if they stop it.

  • What's the song?

  • Definitely better and has always been better than the new era of retro muscle cars. :)

  • Gt 500
