This screencast demonstrates how to use GoDaddy's Domain Control Center app to set up a hostname and nameservers on a domain you've just bought or one you're trying to move. This assumes your server setup is similar to the one I have set up, and won't work for everyone. Still, you may at least know which questions to ask now. Watch this video (about 2 minutes) and let me know what you think.

Download the Screencast from www.ryanpricemedia.com

If you want to see anything else demonstrated, like if you want to teach your boss how to subscribe to RSS feeds, I would be happy to figure something out for you. We do dedications!

  • I used iShowU (a $20 Macintosh App) to record the video and audio, and a free app called OmniDazzle to do the highlighting. You hit a key combination like CTRL+1 to bring up the gray screen, then drag a selecton and another CTRL+` to clear it.

  • thanks man!

  • on godaddy you have to add each nameserver separately. add one (ns1) with ip. then click ok. then click "add" to add the second one. just fyi :)

  • When i put in my servers names sn1 and two or any other numbers with my domain it always comes up as a error. Any idea

  • What did you use for creating the screencast? I like how you were able to highlight stuff and dim the background.

And most importantly, thanks for step by step guide.

  • yeah thank you!

  • very useful. thanks
