  • roundeges2..Faisal met FDR on the Quincy.FDR asked what can I do for you?Faisal replied that it was he who had been invited.Anyway they signed the Quincy Pact that day and 46 years later the U.S. honoured the agreement by kicking Saddam out of Kuwait.

  • I love that last, longing sort of look Lawrence gives at the men on camels; having been scarred by his experiences during his time leading the Arab revolt, he chooses to reject this life, but still cannot help feeling a connection to them.

I also like the subtle (perhaps unintentional?) bookend of a mortorcyle zipping by their jeep, which is where we first see Lawrence at the beginning film.

  • The ending is so well shot and pieced together and I love that it is an anti-climax that is perfectly complimented by the softly played theme but I can't help but feel it's then ruined somewhat by the sudden blaring of a pompous march.

  • Read the Korda book "hero" the most recent bio of this incredible man. He took 50-100 Arab troops in most missions and was able to work miracles with them destroying the Turkish railroads and taking Aqaba and later being first to Damascus. The taking of Aqaba was one of the greatest military accomplishments in history because it allowed the British navy to supply the Arabs and protected the Brits right flank as they went for Jerusalem.

    The man was a hero!
