Hip hop legend Popmaster Fabel, vice-president of the most successful hip hop dance crew ever; the world famous Rock Steady Crew responds to African American founder of the Gathering of Nations pow wow, Derek Mathews allegation that Litefoot was and we quote, "...A few years ago Litefoot was invited to perform at a show in NYC. This show included some of the hottest African American rappers in the business. When Lightfoot took the stage he was boo-ed off. From that time till the present he has been on a journey to prove himself to be like them and as hot as them..."
Litefoot has never strayed from who he is as a Native American person nor in the core beliefs which he stands upon -to this day. In our opinion, this statement along with dozens of other inaccurate facts and propaganda which have been promoted and spread by the non-native founders of the Gathering of Nations pow wow to justify their treatment of Litefoot and to explain Litefoot's decision to leave their event after having attended it for so many years.

Litefoot was designated an area by the founders of the Gathering of Nations at the event and named by them as the "Litefoot Encampment" which Litefoot at his sole election ultimately turned into the non-profit fundraising and promotional, Reach The Rez Concert Stage which in a few short years became so successful that it came into conflict with the Gathering of Nations desire to solely control fundraising at their event. Soon after Litefoot had seen enough and left the event and has not returned since. The falsehood that Litefoot was booed off the stage at Nassau Coliseum in May of 2003 is just one of many slanderous statements against Litefoot that the Mathews family has made against Litefoot to justify their actions of removing him as a blockage in the Gathering of Nations fundraising and revenue gathering machine.

  • "As soon as we came out onto that stage," he says, "people began to spit at me, throwing up their middle fingers and screaming racial obscenities."

"Fuck you, prairie n_____s!" "Go back to your teepee, red motherfucker!" an angry chorus of woo-woo-wooed boos—

  • @wattz18 Cristina was there on stage. She was a great supporter before this night at Nassau Coliseum and she was a greater supporter afterwards. I did finish the show and we did not cut it short. All songs were performed. I stood in front of tens of thousands of people and I did not waver and repped who I am 110%. To think someone tried to turn this into me trying to please others- flies in the face of what truly happened that night - Standing up for Indian Country as a Native person!

  • (" The 60,000-strong crowd of tittie-baring, wannabe-blinging, "I'm a ho"-chanting Ludacris fans never even gave this Indian a chance." ) So according to you she is lying, So you should go fix that report and Stand up for Indian Country as an American Indian... The term "native" can have many different social and political connotations, in different contexts.

  • @wattz18 What she said is accurate. I think that a lot of folks did give me a chance and got it...but a lot of the people there that night put there ignorance on full display & I did not run from it. I stood up to it as a Native, As an American Indian- as a Man...however ya wanna call it. As a human- I stood in front of tens of thousands held my ground. I appreciate Cristina & her recounting. The point in all of it- is that someone tried to turn this "stand" into me selling out- not the truth.

  • @mrLitefoot I am Pretty sure it was more Hate than Ignorance. Its like the Parliament funkadelic performing for the KKK, Its a no win situation. So hows your label coming? find any Talent? Im pretty sure with your connections and experience you could help alot of American Indian Talent come up in both Music and Acting areas... you should look into that.... might be fun

  • @wattz18 I have spent thousands of dollars helping several other Native artists in the U.S. and Canada and was burnt -as I wanted it more for them than they wanted it for themselves. I will no doubt work with developing other artists in the future...It has always been my vision. When the time is right it will happen and I look forward to that energy. Blessings my friend and keep me in your prayers....and prayers to you.

  • ignorance runs deep specially in sell out hip hop..

  • If they were yelling racial slurs. Were they mostly a white crowd?....Just asking....

  • Litefoot is like the Robert Emmett of the Native community! no man can talk him down!..................(Robert Emmett=the leader of the Irish Catholic ascendancy in London dominated old Ireland-1848,circa)...if any of you tribal cats dig into Irish history, be prepared for a horror story of massive proportions! =The Troubles!-1920's-1980's..............actually, it all began in 1175.AD. with the traitor, Art MacMurough of Lienster.

  • @PrincessChronicles My parents for example have a huge admiration for Native people. But from my own experiences, there are some Natives who show hostility towards Blacks. And no, this isn't a "2 wrongs make a right" type comment.

  • Yoo ur vest jacket or whatever with Puerto Rico flag on it? U a Taino mixed native? XD ......anyway much respect to litefoot, wanted to meet him one day, keep it up yaya cacona guari Tiao ah aluka tay...from guatu ma cu a borike'n, Taino council ;)
