David's tremolo always makes me so happy

@artsong1 Oh dear. Thats an awfully misguided statement. A guitarist of this caliber has the liberty to do whatever he wants with the score, as he knows exactly what he's doing and why. There are 3 versions of the score anyway (one that I can't stand, rewritten by Pepe). I'm learning it at the moment and the notation is very different between each of them.it hurts my head trying to choose which to follow. But yeah, I don't personally agree with the rasquerado, but that doesn't make it a bad idea!

@artsong1 Seems like he just flew into that passage. I have heard one other guitarist do it that way, and it is a great effect if used properly. Plus the score is crazy in that part, depending on what version you have.

GENIO!

WTF is up with the music starting at 2:33? The music is notated as an arpeggio, not a rasgueado. A guitarist of this caliber shouldn't be screwing around with the score. BAD idea russell.

god this is SO HEAVY!!! ahhhhh i love it
David Russell is one of the finest classical guitarists ever. So musical yet so clean. However, he is human. He has spoken about how he still gets quite nervous before recitals. When I saw him in Seattle he had a rather obvious stumble in his opening piece. Within 5 minutes he completely loosened up and played an epic program.
This is a nice interpretation of Invocation and Dance. But Russell's real talents are shown when he plays more "conventional" music. His Torroba is exquisite.
