Strawberry Fields Forever - Custom Microkorg flute patch

Demonstration of a custom patch designed to emulate the sound of Mellotron flutes. The Microkorg isn't made for synthesising acoustic instruments, but what I came up with anyway.

I'm not actually a Beatles fan, so if I'm playing it wrong, bear in mind I only learnt the song yesterday! I should probably learn A Punk by Vampire Weekend too.

Started with a blank patch (by hitting shift+3). I just spent a long time listening to real flute samples and fine-tuning the two OSCs till it sounded close.

Is anyone else having volume issues? Do you think it has something to do with the patch i do it on? I reinitialize it an everything. I'm on patch 2 im hiphop/vintage. When i put these settings in it's hard to hear forcing me to turn my amp complete max volume..

Love this patch. Great patch to learn your way through how this synth works. My only problem like someone else mentioned, is it doesn't stay in tune to concert pitch. I've tried an amateurs hand at tinkering with a few setting but no luck with the pitch. Otherwise a really fun patch. I'd love to try and get mellotron sting sounds as well.

that is some serious skill. thanks for the settings. i would love to fill up 20 presets with just mellotron-ish sounds but my ears aren't so keen.

jeez.... amazing! good job, man! but do you know how to make the patch louder? cos even at full volume its a lot quieter than my other patches??? thanks!
