I thought I'd have to comment "R.I.P"

Well done, shit happens. I have been doing and teaching this turn since 1993 and so many still don't know it, neither want to practice it. They just ignore Forced Landings on Take off exercises. NOT EVEN ON SIMULATOR WANTS TO PRACTICE THEM. then when it is their turn to do it for real, of course they stall and kill EVEN WHEN NOT TURNING AT ALL. They cannot lower the nose due to fear and do a Panic Pull/stall. There are more stall serious accidents on take off than on landings.GA is doomed inUSA

I had a dead-stick in an A-4 in '80. Worked like a charm. I have not seen SFITOMA...remarks here. What was the beef?

Did an outstanding job, takes balls to make that turn. Lucky he had the altitude.

Any landing where you can walk away...

he did the "impossible turn" :)

@skipplet tailhook bro

@skipplet Yeah, they dropped the arresting hook during the flare and you can clearly see the arresting cable as they rolled over it.

@mxracerxxx157 Even if your estimates are correct, that's still a very quick stop. In the T-6A, our heavy weight no flap stopping distance is approximately 2800 ft (depending on the day), and that's with a huge 4 bladed speed brake on the nose of the aircraft.
I don't have any problems with what this pilot did in this video, he did a superb job. The Goshawk has ejection seats and it doesn't look like this was in a densely populated area like over New York City so there was little risk to the public or to the pilots. CFITOMAHAWK2 has changed his story now; before it was advocating practicing dead stick landings over densely populated cities on ATFSCrash's video.

CFITOMAHAWK2 is a moron. He wants to unnecessarily risk lives and violate the law. He is too cowardice to obey the law and risk his own life for the greater good of the public. Capt Sully is a hero for saving lives by not turning back to LGA; instead choosing to ditch; thereby keeping the public on the grounds safe. I doubt CFITOMAHAWK2 is a pilot; if he is he should lose his license. No sane pilot would have recommended that Flight 1549 should have landed at LGA.
