Mounting a radar detector high or low makes no difference for point to point radar at microwave frequencies. The waves are bouncing about like ping pong balls or rubber bouncy balls - there's no statistically significant hit rate increase at the top versus the bottom. Height only makes a difference for lower frequencies (MHz not GHz) where the transmission is produced across a longer distance, and line of sight with a transmission tower is being sought.
