@lost2darkness Huntsville is the ONLY city in Alabama that has an active shelter list. You can find fallout protection in newer buildings if you know what to look for in a building or a portion of a building that is to provide protection from radiation.

@BowmanFarm I know this is super old and I might sound uber dumb because Im young and I dont understand (also because im using these dumb words i heard someone else say) but why exactly is most if the US at risk?

@DoctorWhoAudioDramas you are correct on this and it's a sad thing too, because they have so much faith in government. if you are prepared you need not the government to help you and you cannot be controlled.

Lol ...I find it highly ironic that its ALABAMA - the LAST place that would be under threat of a nuclear attack - is the place that has the fallout shelters.

in 1992 Drakelow tunnels near Kidderminster UK was decomissioned and sold to a private buyer.
It's collosal Build under a sandstone hill. I've been on a tour in there and you can drive juggernauts down the tunnels.
If nukes come in, that's where I'll be heading.
Stay informed to whats happening in your neighborhood. Read up on the subject of emergancy preparedness. An informed citizen is freedoms best friend.

Yes. Most of the US has a risk for fallout.
