I took a MOT and carefully stripped out the 2000V Secondary and replaced it with a low voltage high current winding of 18-20T or 12ga wire. New fully rectified DC output is 15.8VDC. An electrolytic capacitor of 1500uf was also added for smoothing purposes. Also includes a voltage monitoring circuit which allows you to know when the voltage of the battery being charged has reached completion. A green LED will be brightly illuminated to let you know to unplug the charger.

  • @HOMBREooDEooACERO I think the diodes can take max.10amps

  • you got a nice one there.. what exactly is the diode rating? im planing to make one my self.

  • very nice dude....

Im gonna build one today for my battery !

im gonna run my car amp of the battery :D I had a big voltage drop on my computer power supply(i had my amp on that before) Q: Do i have to get it to about 16v and do i have to use bigger wires for the secondary to get the battery to charge or can i just have the lower amps to charge the battery slower??

  • nice job men !!
