Greens Senator Rachel Siewert, Greens MLCs Sue Pennicuik, Colleen Hartland and Greg Barber and some of Victoria's newly-elected Greens Councillors protest over the federal government's weak 5% greenhouse target. The Greens are committed to taking the climate crisis seriously at Federal, State and Local levels of government.
The rally heard how Greens councillors are providing leadership in local communities and taking real action to reduce greenhouse emissions. Rachel Siewert announced that The Greens will seek a Senate inquiry into the inadequacy of the target in avoiding catastrophic climate change.
