Bowling is in West of Scotland near Dumbarton. The station is on the North Clyde line between Kilpatrick and Dumbarton East stations. The station opened on the 31st May 1858. The line is double track throughout as was electrified in the 60s. The station is also famous from the Painting of The Blue Train by Terence Cuneo. The station was staffed but at the time of filming the station was unstaffed. The station was served by First Scotrail at the time of filming with services to Airdrie and Balloch. During a visit on Sunday 22nd June 2008 we note the following trains:
09.14 - Yoker - Balloch, Class 334 032 Juniper in SPT livery,
09.23 - Drumgelloch - Helensburgh Central, Class 334 Juniper in SPT livery,
09.24 - Balloch - Motherwell, Class 318 252 in SPT livery,
09.44 - Motherwell - Balloch, Class 334 017 Juniper in SPT livery,
09.46 - Helensburgh Central - Drumgelloch, Class 320 in SPT livery,
09.53 - Drumgelloch - Helensburgh Central, Class 320 in SPT livery,
09.54 - Balloch - Motherwell, Class 334 022 Juniper in SPT livery,
10.00 - Class 47 826 in West Coast Railways livery at the head of 1H87 Bridge of Orchy - Wemyss Bay The Royal Scotsman with Class 33 025 also in West Coast Railways livery at the rear of the train.
@Sharpslade I do look out for the Scotsman on a regular basis where the times are available on w.scot-rail.co.uk hence how I found out about all the railtours I filmed except of the Mid Norfolk Railway which was when I worked as a crossing Keeper

ahh the good old Scotsman.. I filmed that leave Wemyss Bay 2 weeks ago.. Tis on youtube..
