@sarahinez04 You should be very proud of your grandfather. I only discovered JW just recently & I was immediately impressed with him. A year or so ago I fell in love with the old westerns & TV shows and since I'm a music lover and was a singer myself I gravitated to the music that was assoc. with it. I've just bought a few Mp3 recordings of him and hope to have more. Mr. Wakely reminds me of Bing Crosby, but he's very distinctive when he's in full throat. Actually, I like JW much better.

Excuse my ignorance, or rather my emotional reprise..
But was this the other side of the world when thousands were being murdered by the Nazis in Europe. This freaks me out... Look how happy these people are.
A cold chill runs down my spine as I write this message.

It has now been proven that Jimmie Davis did not write this song.

That is my aunt Mary, (Mary Ford). My mom, (Mary's sis) would talk about what a great guitar player Jimmy was. This is such a trip seeing my aunt Mary singing with him! :)
Love it!

Hi everybody! I'm Jimmy Wakely's granddaughter. I love this video. It is SO nice to see that other people love it, too! He was a wonderful singer. I loved him and I still miss him. We all do! I think Star of Hope is probably my favorite. I like the version where my grandmother ("Mama") sings with him. I wish that he would receive more recognition today for his singing.
