Things tend to work OK in the lab, buy when you move that fancy AI s/w into the field they tend to see either (a) nothing, or (b) everything. :)
I've moved a small opencv-based s/w onto an ARM, ready to install on a phone. The s/w works reasonably well with static photos, but I'm moving to the area of recognising numberplates as cars fly by.
After a few stills of the thing "working", the experiment shows a segmented image of side-of-the-road vid, and doesn't manage to recognise a single numberplate in about a dozen attempts.
But I'm ready for experiment #2. :)
