The Apple Kingdom is the first level set in the game where you really have to be creative in order to get at least 1200 beats since beats are relatively scarce.
1.) Massive Canyon
Like I said above, beats are relatively scarce. Most of them will come from defeating enemies as you progress througout the level. Using combo tricks is definitely a must and this level will teach you the usefulness of the backflip. Also, besure not to be too hasty using clap grabs as you might miss getting 100 flowers and that's 100 beats that you DO NOT wanna miss out on.
2.) Ice Warren
Ice Warren is pretty similar to Massive Canyon except that everything's covered in ice, including some enemies. Some of the features that stick out are snowmen whose facial and body features are made out of bananas. The biggest feature is at the end though where you ride Hoofer. Instead of rapidly hitting the bongos to collect extra beats like it is at the end of most levels, you must jump from platform to platform making sure that you don't fall. Each successful jump results in 10 beats being added to your total, so try to make as many jumps as you can. If it gets too hard, don't attempt to get the extra beats between each platform as they aren't worth as much.
3.) Boss - Turret Tusk
Here we have the fourth boss type in the game, the Tusk Cannons. Mechanical, elephant-type machines act as cannons to rain down destruction on Donkey Kong.
Turret Tusks are relatively easy starting off, though they get a bit harder later on. What you wanna do in order to damage it is grab a Pineapple Bomb and throw it at its trunk so that it gets sucked in and detonates. This exposes the Tusk's heart and it also throws out four more Pineapple Bombs that you can attack it with. When the Tusk's sucks in a bomb through its trunk, that does 50 damage. Each bomb that you throw in its heart before it detonates does 25 damage. So you can deal up to 175 damage each time its heart is exposed. If you miss the trunk, each bomb will only do 5 damage.
When the Tusk's health gets low, it'll unveil a new attack. In Turret Tusk's case, it'll merely fire more cannon balls at a time. Pretty simple, no?
