@CHUCKS78 I tried a five string (along with almost every model of 4 string jazz bass), and I found the overall tone totally different than the 4 string basses. Not worse or better, just 'different', and I'm not talking about the 5th string either. I can only guess that it has something to do with the weight and thickness of the neck? Anyway, it didn't sound much like a typical jazz bass to me, but some people might love it!

Nice bass! I want to get the 5 string Fender American Standard Jazz Bass but I've been reading a lot of negative reviews about the 5th string ....

Bei 'nem Fretless-Sounddemo will ich hören wie sich das Sustain verhält. Fängt er an zu singen, stirbt er nach 'ner Sekunde? Dieses 0815-Fingerübungs-Gefuddel ist völlig nutzlos!
