Whether it's Arizona's controversial new law requiring citizens to produce "papers" proving their legal status or President Obama's decision to send additional national guard troops to the US/Mexico border, immigration remains one of the most contentious issues in contemporary politics. As the battle over "comprehensive" reform heats up, everyone has an opinion.
Reason.tv caught up with immigrants to learn why they moved to a country that defines itself as a multicultural melting pot. Citizenship: The Pursuit of Happiness was produced and edited by Dan Hayes.
Approximately 5.15 minutes.

What about all the Iraqi refugees? Shouldn't the US take care of them? As of now, Sweden has granted entry to more Iraqi refugees than the US and Canada combined. Tell that to the woman at the end of this video who is talking about how wonderful America is.

Well, to some degree that is true, but when millions overflow your country then truth changes... or You mean you can handle if entire world knock on Your door saying we let us in, we also want to be americans..
of course there is a limit, and also there is a difference in what kind of people that You let in.. probably there is some kind of difference in analphabetics from eritrea and higly educated japaneese engineers ??
or between Shia Muslims and Australians, or ??

@ohmmeters You've indicated to me that you're just very angry about the whole thing and you're most probably a racist. And that's fine, free speech but just yelling at me with CAPS LOCK on all your ANGRY WORDS proves nothing.
This is OUR country and the majority of people believe everyone has a chance here.

There is almost NO similarities between U.S and Sweden when it comes to this issue..

All of these people deserve citizenship because they are giving something back to this country and they are proud to be here...Now how about the millions that don't try to assimilate in OUR society or better themselves and the society around them

@myoung222 Out of all the weird, offensive, silly and strange comments I read daily while going through YouTube everyday. Your comment is by far the most cold, emotionless and inhuman comment I have read of spending three years on this website.

During the middle of the twentieth century, the time when America really rose to prominence, the time of the baby boom and putting a man on the moon, we had very little immigration.
Small amounts of immigration are okay, especially if they reflect our population. Current mass immigration policy, selected mostly from countries and that have no historical ties to the US, is of no benefit, indeed positively hurts native-born Americans.
