In this webinar James will share some of the industry's best kept secrets, taken from the latest edition of his bestselling book 'The Art of Voice Acting'. * 'The Seven Core Elements of Performing' * Studio stories and "tricks-of-the-trade" * Information for voice-over demos and marketing * More voice and acting techniques

As a teacher, James R. Alburger works with people who want to break into voiceover. As a producer, he works with business owners and advertising agencies who use radio advertising, and with other clients who want exceptional sound design and audio production. As a director, James takes an actor's initial performance to a new level through his understanding of the nuance of interpretation and timing.

For more than 35 years James has worked with voiceover artists as a director, performer and studio engineer in Los Angeles and San Diego. For 25 years, he was a director and audio producer for television station NBC 7/39 in San Diego, receiving eleven Emmy Awards, Omni Intermedia Awards, and Silver Microphone Awards for his work. He is currently an independent audio producer, voice-actor, speaker, author, and teacher.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I learned a few wonderful things. I do have one complaint. Wouldn't it have made more sense for this webinar to have been recorded in a recording booth using professional equipment as opposed to a telephone?

Again, thank you for posting this!

  • I doubt however Youtube would be as good and helpful as an actual coach. ??

  • I do good voices.

I can't how long this goes for!

  • and you can learn all that on you tube if you look it up

  • yes its good to lay down a firm foundation by going to a vocal coach who will teach you how to use youre diaphragm and correct breathing and contorl and all the Fundamental basics needed for voice acting

  • really...? So, if I took singing classes, could I improve the voice acting??

  • me and some friends will start redubbing shaman king as a parody. (if i could get my video editor to work *rage!*) and my friend said i sounded like a good VA in a few clips hehe ^^. at first i thought it was kinda hard to speak like normal or acting into a computer instead of a crowd or to people. so this will be fun practice!

  • It can get frustrating when you cannot get your voice to sound the way you want it to sound, so it really depends on your drive and building of talent as well as an understanding of the market, but definitely a lot of resilience. Good Luck either way on finding what suits you in life. And that goes for me, too.

  • It's like that for a lot of people. But while it may be obvious, voice acting is purely ACTING. We can learn to speak and do presentations in front of crowds, but we need the talent and flexibility to ACT overall if you and I are going to learn to act with the VOICE.
