  • Great mower! I love how the 19 is raised and painted on the deck! I also like the cladding on the motor to give it an aero styling effect. I'm sure the exhaust doesn't get hot enough to start a fire but would probably be prone to clogging.

  • yeah lol!! true!! thanks for the comment :D

  • Wow that thing is strange I love the funnel thing, never seen anything like it! what's with that plunger thing you were pushing in?

  • i honestly have no clue lol! but im fairly sure you use that to check the oil lol! but i think its really really neat lookin, not good lookin just wierd and neat lookin lol

  • nice! are you gonna keep it since its an older techumseh and not one of the newer ones?

  • yeah im gonna keep it :D

  • I have a 1970's Toro. I really wanna fix it

  • Hi there.

In case you are still wondering, this appears to be a 1969 Consumer Toro Whirlwind mower - model number 18214, serial numbers ranging from 9000001-9999999. Hope that helps.

  • neat mower, did you ever get it running?

  • My favorite Tecumseh and Craftsman mower engines are those made from 1964 until 1987.

  • What are the numbers on the ID tag at the rear of the crankcase they will tell you alot about the engine. Model of engine is probably LAV 30 or 35.

  • Toros always seemed to be a little better quality so I would always fix and clean them up.

I have a Toro mower my Father-in-Law gave me 10 years ago that I mow with every week. Great mower. Good luck with yours, keep us posted!

  • sweet awesome mower

  • OK, this is a really really really weird mower and I agree, I hate the exaust at the bottom cause it does make it really easy to start a fire. So I suggest if you mow with this, be very careful. The older engines use points and condensor. Most if not always its the case of the points being dirty, I would clean them and I bet you will get good spark. ;)

Toro is a good name, but that engine is super freaky!
