Your base needs strengthening, the stornger your legs are, the less you need youre hands, and it'll eliminate hitting him in the mouth.

i know wat im about to say is probably contradictory to everything you have learned, but try sitting a little more foward (not leaning forward). its just every time ur horse jumps, u are a bit behind and u bonk him in the mouth a litttle
