DDT Saves Lives In Africa

Glenn Beck of Fox News delivered a much-needed broadside against broadside anti-DDT hysteria during a segment earlier this month. His history lesson about the pesticide echoes one of the central themes of the movie "Not Evil Just Wrong" -- that global warming hysteria has devastating consequences. In the case of DDT, the alarmism has cost tens of millions of children in Africa their lives.

That's actually a serious problem, there was a special on fox where they actually went into detail on how special interest groups are swarming to control what goes into textbooks and school curriculum. No doubt Greenpeace bullshit was taught to you in school, when I was in high school I was forced to sit through multiple classes with hysterical environmentalists teaching more BS.

The ONLY reason why people think that malaria is an "Africa Problem" is because the swamps weren't drained by the time DDT was banned. The fact is, malaria killed humans world wide. No place on earth was safe from malaria until swamps were drained and DDT was used.

Glenn Beck is an idiot with no understanding of global ecology. Viruses and bacteria are essential to any species survival. And you cannot eliminate mosquitoes because they are needed too. How many insects do birds, bats consume in a day? Thousands. U simply cannot wipe out a species. Besides in a long run it will be bad for all of us.

I'm a junior in high school and the class is called 'environmental science' and it's full of bullshit like how global warming is going to affect earth and my teacher even showed us an al gore video full of bullshit. haha but don't worry about kids taking it seriously. after ddt was banned the price of other chemicals shot up ddt was cheap and worked good now buying chemical and pesticides at 500 a gallon and even more

@retsep81 i am not a liberal, just a professional chemist. clearly, you are suffering from "confirmational bias," a condition which causes one to only seek out information that you already agree with. 50-29-3 (p,p'-DDT) is effective in killing mosquitoes, yes, but it accumulates as it makes its way up the food chain b/c it never ever ever breaks down. it is also a hormone mimic - want more gay men? oh, yeah - mosquitoes will adapt to it in a few years, and it will still slowly poison humans.
