Where do these idiots get their information? Polar bears are endangered. The numbers may have increased since the 1950's, until recently, but that's because they were hunted back then. As of now, their numbers are declining and they are losing their habitat. Kind of ironic, considering that this guy is calling out Gore on his facts.

I grew up in northern Manitoba, Canada through the 70's and 80's. I have been to Churchill, Manitoba (we call it "The Polar Bear Capital of the World") in 1984, 1995 and 1996. I have spoken to native elders, local townfolk, and Federal conservation officers. Quite frankly, government statistics are notoriously inaccurate and can fluctuate wildly and unrealistically from year to year. Based on observation and discussion: P. Bear population up slightly, health is worse, less ice.

They doubled since the 1950s. How much have dwindled since then or are you going in purely ancdotal evidence? You dont know, do you? Some ice was lost between 1979 and 2000, but January 2000 and January 2009 artic ice is virtually identical if not more now than then.
