my parakeet was not handfed i just kept taking him out of his cage when he did not want me to!

as long as parakeets are handfed in the first weeks of their life, and given lots of attention, are usually really docile and affectionate.

True, most pet birds nip. However, there was a caged raven at the Cape May Zoo in New Jersey who'd put its beak through the bars so you'd touch the top of it with the back of your finger.
