Help For Haiti Concert Status Update

Despite a week of relentless effort we have not been able to overcome the artists scheduling conflicts that naturally come with organizing an event of this magnitude within a short time frame.

The event organizers have weighed our various options at this point and have decided to postpone this event in order to allow us the proper time to create an experience more deserving of this worthy cause.

We do sincerely regret that we will not be able to meet the February 13th
federal government deadline to match our donations dollar for dollar. For this reason we urge people to donate, again or for the first time, before this deadline.

As organizers of a public event we are aware that Vancouver Islanders have already given very generously and another plea can feel overwhelming. We sincerely thank you for your contributions but feel that the problems in Haiti are just beginning. The people of Haiti are going to need ongoing support for a very long time. It is the intent of the organizers of this event as well as World Vision to work together to try to leave the country of Haiti better than when this disaster struck.

For this reason, we would also ask that people consider offering ongoing support by way of sponsoring a child through World Vision. More information can be found on the World Vision website at www.worldvision.ca
