This movie is a remake of the classic horror movie "The Thing from Another World", filmed by legendary director John Carpenter and adapted by the novel "Ho Goes There". It became a classic by it's own and is even today the best remake ever made. It's the story about a research team in the Arctic which is confronted with a shape shifting alien. One of the scariest and most haunting movies ever made. The msic was composed by the genius Ennio Morricone and is a scary masterpiece by itself.
One of the scariest movies of all-time!!

For listening purpose only, like al lthe other soundtracks I am uploading...

Projection: if intruder organism reaches civilized areas...

entire world population infected 27,000 hours from first contact

  • In light of watching this amazing film too much, I've decided to make a tradition out of only watching it on the first day of Winter each year. Join me!

  • I actually like the premise that the Thing is a highly intelligent life-form, which made the mistake of crash-landing on Earth smack-dab in the Antarctic. Read Peter Watts' "The Things" short story if you want to imagine the mythos from an alien perspective, literally.

  • @SuperJamesus That is, as KemmlerTMB says, plausible. Even moreso as, in the original novella, "Who Goes There?" the protagonists wonder aloud if the thing in the ice was even The Thing's real form, or just one it had recently assimilated. Of course, given the obvious similarities to "At the Mountains of Madness," it may be that the Thing's thought processes are completely alien to humans, but not bestial.

  • Saw the prequil yesterday evening. It was good. I think the original/first one was better though.

  • @KemmlerTMB This might get explained in "Prometeus", if thats really a prequel to Alien.

  • Fantastic, hell yes.

  • @SuperJamesus What I find scary about what you said is the fact the organism steals the host's knowledge for its own gain

  • @SuperJamesus That indeed sounds plausible, just like in Alien where they find an infected vessel.

  • it occurred to me yesterday that the thing which is like a virus may not be the owner of the crashed ship, but could be the reason the ship had crashed, this seemed more plausible to me than the thing actually having a society and technology and building a spaceship.etc. does anybody have any thoughts about this?

  • @Carlosonebillion im with you friend, but i'm not certain all of us are human, im going to need some of your blood.

  • @Carlosonebillion sorry i can't join you cause i watch this fucking AWESOME movie every week
