pardon me, one of the few, with a record from a cereal box.

LMAO! thats hilarious! we did have to cut it off the back of the box. and plus, the record really played on the stereo! to be the first artist in the world with a record cut from a cereal box...no one else has done that, and no one else ever will.

You had to cut it off the back of the box. I know because I was 3 and I couldn't wait for my parents to help me so I got the scissors and did it myself. I cut a small chunk of the record grooves, thus ruining the first song and then got in trouble for using the scissors because I was obviously too young. I bid for it on eBay 2 years ago and lost. DANG!!! I bet the price is waaaaaay up now that Mike has crossed over.

The commercial wasn't an embarrassment to them. People didn't act the same way back then as they do now. We were glad to see our teen idols anytime on TV. That was a special event to see them show up in a commercial. You actually see & hear waaaay too much of the non singing artist today so it would not be a big deal if they showed up in a commercial. So many fat out of shape ill mannered people today think they're cool today that they have actually over used & ruined the meaing of cool.
