Also... she's met another guy and only agrees to go with Peter so that he will technically be #6 so that the guy she has met will be #7, the rightful one. Haha, hope that makes sense.

Fillin' in the missing pieces:
At 7, her mom sat her down and traced their handprints, and basically made a map of what her life would be like. One was take a trip...stuff like that and she followed it exactly to a "T". Along this map her mom also put numbers. #1, #2, etc. These signified the men she would meet and love...until lucky # 7. Her mother died of cancer, I think.
