The 2007 Positech political simulator where you seek to get re-elected as a government of a fabricated nation and solve the multitude of social problems you are given on your entry into the game. The game IS addictive to begin with but once you get over the initial phase you realise there's nothing to keep you playing the game once you've completed a few scenarios and the formula is fairly simple. That's not to say this isn't a novel or different game, just that for the price on their website you might expect more in the way of longevity.

Their official site is: http://positech.co.uk/democracy2/?gclid=CIeX5q-r7pkCFRxinAodn07zRw

  • @Chris22697 Try Ctrl + Alt + Arrow key.

  • i have a problem with the game. when i start it, the screen is in a 90 degrees rotation and i cant get it work. plz help me im too dissapointed!

  • @Kommunist93 I did find that by ignoring the capitalist's unhappy indicators, and making long term changes for society, that eventually the capitalists liked what was done. ( within a 4 year election period. )

  • @Kommunist93 I am no expert on communism, but I there is truth in that irony. Since elections are based on voter 'happiness', and communist implementations (ie: taking land and belongings away from individuals for the government) isn't that popular, I don't think you could have an election system working to bring about stable communism. Democracy includes an election system.

  • 0:44 Tax evasion is not a problem.... Taxation is the problem.

  • ...continued (game review). Some additions to make this logical political simulator a little more realistic. Media manipulation, and corporate lobby pressures ( which is available in a patch ). Really it is missing the negatives. Maybe the world should be run by a super computer, people seem to make problems of semi complicated and banal tasks. Hmmm, Deus Ex.

Any comments are welcome, I will most likely post back ( if you are not insulting or crass ).

  • quick game review: Just bought it today. The play is good, but the logic leans left. I played Standard USA Republican default settings. Either I should be elected to save the USA from it's current affairs, (which I couldn't be, I am not American), or the settings are still a bit simplistic. Which, I will immediately add, are very complicated and dynamic and quite impressive. I did manage reelection after my first term by 80+% vote, and solved all but 3 problem areas. continued...
