Artist and rock cellist Daniel DeJesus is a Philadelphia native and classically trained cellist who uses the cello to sculpt swooping and fiercely passionate sounds that take this instrument out of the concert hall and into the realm of rock. DeJesus speaks of his devotion to his cellos and notes that the groups Apocalyptica and Rasputina have been formative influences. He reveals that he originally studied illustration but later moved into musical composition. He released his first CD, From the Subconscious, in 2006. This episode includes visuals of two of DeJesus's paintings and a live performance of the artist playing and singing a medley of his songs "Bliss" and "Change."
