To the rest of the world that happens to think (and matter), Zappa rules. To most guitarists that meet the "happen to think and matter" criteria previously mentioned, Zappa is a virtuoso player, of which there are only a few of per generation.
Go back to your dumbed-down Skynyrd rubbish. Leave the adult music to the adults. You won't have to look and feel ignorant.

Obviously Frank does all the hard work on this incredible piece of music, but it wouldn't have the same feeling or imagery had the Captain not put the vocals to the first two minutes of it. The guitar makes us see Willie the Pimp and the world he inhabits so clearly but only because the Captain set the scene. How good is 5:05-6:00?
