"UN's world government" could come to exist only because there would be economic interest in its existence, which would not happen in a socialism so I don't really see the connection there.

because slavery is freedom...

Perhaps, but if we were to rip them out one illegitimate system to replace it with a system even more illegitimate (capitalism) it would make things worse not better. So voting for Ron Paul even if it did rip out all the broken government programs would be doing so with the intension of replacing them with something worse.

Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union were no more socialist then they were democratic (the claimed to be both).

If Paul still doesn't win the primary after all our support, we can all vote for our proffered third party candidate in the actual election anyway. So please, put your primary votes to good use to further the cause of all disenfranchised Americans. Paul will rework the FEC so that third parties are no longer un-viable!

Even if you strongly disagree with Paul's libertarian policies, you have to admit that if we were to ever have a working democratic socialist government in this country, all of the broken government programs would have to be ripped out of the system and redone from the ground up anyway.
-
I would encourage all of the third party leaners to put everything aside this election, register as Republicans(think of it as taking their party out from under them), and vote for Paul in the primaries. ;)

Let's not get too hostile here, Ron Paul fans. We have a lot in common with the Green Party in that we all want to fix our political system. While the Greens could be considered the polar opposites to the Libertarians, that doesn't place them with the corporate-socialist neocons that have kidnapped our country.

Democracy and Totalitarianism are forms of government. The Green Party's major interest is in having real Democracy. As such, we sincerely wish the Libertarians out there fair ballot access and IRV voting, so that lesser-evilism doesn't rob you of votes. Some people consider Social Security to be socialism, including, I suspect, a lot of the commenters here. I believe that Social Security is Democracy if arrived at in a Democratic society. And so is Universal Health Care.
Read the GP platform before you start bashing. For all of you smart polisci. majors, you should do some reading. The political system does not work alone in a vacuum. The environment and the people's welfare play into how long a civilization survives.
