This is a short video to show the severe back light/mura clouding issue with Sony's new 2010 LED NX-800 series. This issue started 72 hrs after Sony replaced my XBR5 for the exact same issue. And this is calibrated with the back light at 2.

  • Im on my second sony 55nx810 because of this, tv is top of the line and it does this!? Does it ever go away cause my new one has clouding in the same exact spots as the first one

  • @moto76dan I went through two sets and same issue each time. Finally switched to a lower model and no issues since.

  • Wow! That is very pronounced backlight bleeding alright. Is that playing a black screen from the beginning of a movie,or is it just a disengaged input? Either way it's pretty bad. Apart from that, did scenes set in daylight look good?

  • @jonahlevin67 It did it on every input and you could see it in every single dark scene of a movie or even with no video playing. It was nasty!

  • @livingproof1973 That is the same set I went with after and I have 0 clouding, but can agree with uneven brightness depending on the angle. I can live with that :)

  • @socratese5 Clouding comes from moisture between the glass and the lcd screen (there is a glass diffuser behind the actual screen) as the back-light heats up the moisture it becomes a gas, with no where to escape from it separates the two layers.

  • @socratese5

Why would they even want to? If they can produce low quality junk and make billions from that, then that's what they're gonna do. Making stuff that actually works correctly and isn't broken costs more money and takes more time, which end result of is less revenue.

There's also the fact that selling broken junk is more profitable because it makes people want to buy new stuff, again and again, hoping it's better, every time.

Good quality products don't need to be replaced.

  • @toocoolforu I finally got a Sony set that worked - HX701 55"

The TV has 0 clouding, but has some uneven brightness depending on the angle I sit at.

  • I just bought one for christmas (55NX810) and i have the same shitty clouding issue!!

What is wrong with sony ?! Do sony consider it an issue to begin with ?

  • Never buy a TV from Walmart or Samsclub they "fix" every set before thye sell it by tightening all the screws and then re package it even though their hands have been all over the set. (one of my friends used to work at Walmart in electronics)
