I discuss the double feed problem with my keltec pf9. Since this video, I have talked with a gunsmith who told me to clean under the extractor. Any thoughts? Please comment and rate.

  • Oh at the range, the guy beside me also had a PF9 and when he fired the pistol the firing pin shot out of the slide and landed on the table, it's never happened to me personally, but it's a data point. I love my PF9 it's perfectly sized but until I get it squared away, I'll be keeping my Glock 19 close by.

  • @killatony35 Coincidentally, I also have a G19. As soon as I get a chance, I'll have the feedreamp polished and post an update. Thanks for the comment.

  • I have the same problem with mine. It's worst with winchester ammo. Federal jams 2 out of 50. I contacted kel tec and the sent a new extractor, but it didn't fix the problem. More to come i guess...

  • @boodrow24m Let me know how it goes. I'm still having trouble on almost every round. I'm out of the country at the moment, but will call Kel-Tec as soon as I get back. I really like this gun and would like it to run 100% reliably.

  • @mcrabbjr Thanks! I'll email them right now. After I cleaned it, it worked better, but the last time I shot it I had the same problem again. It's good to know they'll send the part and I just have to polish the feed ramp. Thanks again for the comment

  • Are you limp wristing the pistol.

  • @DSMtsi23 That's what I thought at first, but even gripping the gun tightly didn't help. My friend and my brother had the same problem with my pistol so it's not just me. I'm working on the update. I should have it up in a few days or so.

  • This has happened to me as well with Remington Golden Saber 124gr JHP +P's and also with Winchester White Box 147gr JHP's and right now I have some Federal Hydra-Shok 135gr ammo that I'd like to test, I just polished my feed ramp/barrel seems smoother and the JHP's don't get caught on the ramp anymore. Side Note, the range I went to gave me some Independence 115gr FMJ and from the looks of the target I have, the rounds were tumbling, it didn't do it with Winchester White Box 115gr FMJ though.

  • I had the same problem with my PF9 and contacted Keltec via email. I received a prompt reply from them saying they would send me a new extractor and asking me to polish the feed ramp. There are plenty of vids here on polishing feed ramps. Dremel, polishing wheel, and polishing compound (flitz is good) is all you need. It fixed the problem for me. No failures now!

  • You might have a week sping. I have had some minor issues with my PF9 at first, but not like that... I have only had one double feed like your having in 500 + rounds! I would send it back, i've heard Kel Tec CS is pretty good. Good luck man!

  • You're not limp-wristing it. I have one too, and I get the same problems. Remington L9MM3 rounds work pretty well, but it gets fussy when I use cheaper stuff.
