How is Vista's minimum supported system requirements too high? Vista's minimum requirements is a 800Mhz CPU, 512MB RAM and a 20GB hard drive. How old is a system like that? The PIII 800Mhz CPU was release in 1999.
Infact even Windows 7, an OS that came out in 2009 can run on a box from the year 2000 (1Ghz CPU, 1GB RAM).
Can you name even one Mac older than 2006 that can run Snow Leopard? No :)

BTW that video I did booting Vista on a PIII, its called "Vista on old hardware" so you can search for that on youtube.

take a look at one of my videos showing a pentium III loading vista actually fairly quickly. How old is a PIII? 8-9 years old...maybe 10?
Also about Macs running any OS and lasting longer...tell that to the G4 and G5 users getting left in the dark with Snow Leopard. How sad is it that a top of a line machine such as a Quad G5 is unable to have the latest OS.

Ijcot is right. Most people don't have a clue about computers, you don't have to blame the operating system for being a dumb-ass concerning your computer. U, the mac fanboy, should consider this; almost anything that has been corrupted on a pc can be recovered. If u can't do it, get to an IT-store, they will. Have you tried bringing in a crashed mac and asking if they can recover your data? They'll laugh in your face.

My exact thoughts. added:Why do people compare the new to the old. Of course Vista uses more ram than XP. XP isn't as stable with multiple applications with the same ram though. They use about the same power. +with newer computers with improved speed and processing power vista is a sure thing. Don't cry when your old system gets obsolete, get a new one. Its the cycle of technology. Did you guys see my Dead Space video in HD btw(edited with windows movie maker)

hey i have vista and i hate MYSELF for having purchased it!!!!!

Their voice recognition software is still crappy even after almost 3 years of updates, patches, and fixes. LOL
Same reasons as always for hating vista. I'm not even going to waste my time explaining why you are so stupid.

Well if they are the "same reasons as always", then maybe more people than you think are having the same problems....

I think it is more likely that you are part of the majority of computer users that don't have a clue what they are doing.
If you're too stupid to know how to run proper anti-virus software and keep your computer up to date you deserve to have problems.
By the way since I got my computer at the beginning of April last year I have not had a virus, trojan or any other malware on my computer. I've had many things try to attack my computer but nothing has ever got past my antivirus.

Actually, I do know what I'm doing. I choose not to install anti-virus software. It slows down your computer, and honestly with my experience, by the time something was found, it was too late. It's a waste of money in my opinion. Call it stupid, call it whatever you want, but I hate anti virus software. You don't need any on OSX...

Vista IS shit... bought a new pc, Asked to have windows XP! salesman said, he had almost everyone saying the same thing... not suprising, the OS is unstable, crashes all the time, and I would have thought it was just me, until I rang for help and was told 'it's quirks of Vista'
What a pile of shit!

I agree. I'm sure it's an OK OS if you have a super fast computer, but it's not worth it. With that money, you could just get a Mac and run any OS you want, and have it perform better and last longer.
