This video was commented using my "new tip of the tongue" most of the time, unless I failed to do so. I don't know if I get into trouble for re-allocating the "tip of my tongue" further to the right than it naturally is, once the last few suture threads have fallen out of the tongue in ~2 weeks. This might untie the tongue quite a bit and maybe then the "old tip of the tongue" will be more the "new tip of the tongue" again.

Only time will tell.

Rubbish is translated via annotations now. :P

Logopedician had a go at having me say "s" today for a short while (topic of today was "swallowing" though), so I ended up in bed right now, saying random words with soft "s" and sharp "s" in them. This seemed to relax the voice quite some, so I went out of bed and did a recording.

Well... why not upload it afterwards.

I've not lost my mind, I am just talking rubbish because it has a lot of switching s and ß sounds.

  • Cat :3

  • @beyondthelol Well, I could also use photos of my tracheotomy as background, because I took pictures of that for quite a while during the change of bandages. I prefer to use soothing cat pictures though. ;)

  • You sound 99% like the same Lytha to me, though understandably you do sound very tired.

  • @toggsuk Difference between the voice heard through body&bones vs voice heard via air.

Put some soundstoppers into your ears and talk: that's the body&bone voice you hear. Then record yourself and listen to that: this is the voice heard via air. You'll notice several differences.

Normally, you hear both when talking, so you actually hear yourself doubly so.

Now add some impaired consonants and you'll get nuts because you hear them twice as much as everyone else does.

  • Oh, I have a bit of a strange question.

I know quite a few people who are multilingual and grew up in a non English speaking country. They've told me a lot of times they catch themselves "thinking" in English, even though it isn't their original language, and even when they didn't just recently have an English conversation.

Do you sometimes "think" in a language that isn't German?

  • @IcarusMJ12 Yes, that happens. It also happened with other languages when I was more fluent with them (which is currently not the case anymore). I think this is pretty much normal.

I find it weirder when you sit down to type something in one language and end up typing it out in another. That is in my opinion less normal. :)

  • Hi Lytha. I hope 2012 has been better for you. And I think if you want practice speaking, you could just make videos "Let's play" where you get to do what you enjoy (game walkthrus) and where you will also be speaking lots which will give you the practice without it becoming boring. Well perhaps this is simple to say but harder to do. Anyway, wish you a complete recovery and miss your entertaining videos! Get well soon!!

  • Hope you get well soon

  • (continued) Anyways, I started to watch- more like listen - to your videos and came upon your tragedy(but you make it look so easy to handle). With all sincerity, I wish for you to be fully cured. That way, many people and I get to enjoy listening to you more.

  • Getting straight to my point(this is 100% honesty)-you have the voice of a goddess, with or without your tongue cancer. I got here and ended up feeling mournful for you, all because of your video when you read about the Lusty Argonian in Oblivion. During that video, I found your voice very attractive, like most people say(I have a thing for voices).

  • WHERE ARE YOU??/

  • Listening you like this I have the urge to hug you.

I hope you are getting better.

  • *hugs*
