not from the lakes or the caves, or the himalyan mountains but from the sea, there is a commercial salt that is used to feed cows and horses, salt to sprinkle on the snowy road's too, but i use plain simple sea salt, it has a lot of minerals that are good for the body, i hope you just learned something, btw, i still think of everything salty Patis is the best tasting. hope you find the time to cook.

no, the fish are so small, the insides are clean, it's a very clean fish, did you try it yet, my friends go crazy over this dish, it's so good with just plain hot rice, make it a little saltier with patis so when you put the sauce on the rice it's already timplado and no need sawsaw....good luck jenazi
